Cycling Kit List for a 3 Month European Trip

I have constantly hashed over in my head what to bring on my trip. I have trolled numerous cycling blogs to get an idea of what other bloggers have included in their panniers. Of course, no one cyclist has the exact kits same list I plan on packing. So it’s a matter of gleaning the best from all of them to suit my needs.

I have tried to bring clothes that can do double duty, that I can wear both on and off the bike. I do have a few items that I will reserve for off the bike. It’s nice to be able to change into clothes at the end of the day or on non cycling days that have not been touched by bicycle grease.

I don’t plan on cooking, partly because I want to enjoy the local cuisine as much as possible and mostly to cut down on the weight. I do plan on camping, as much as my back can take it, so I will take a tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress.

My one luxury item is my Helinox Zero chair. Sitting on the ground is not as comfortable as it once was and this chair only weighs slightly more than a pound. I will gladly haul this chair up any hill and over many a mile to have the luxury of sitting in it at the end of the day.

I am pretty confident that my final list will be lacking in one or two instances and indulgent in many others. But for better or worse, this is what I am bringing. As I time goes on, I will add my notes and reviews to the list.
